Sleep Medicine

Athena Sleep Medicine offers sleep consultations and treatments for sleep disorders for our patient’s sleep disorders. We offer treatments for disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, restless legs syndrome, night terrors, bedwetting, sleep walking, narcolepsy and more for patients age three and older.

Weight Loss

Athena Medical Clinic specializes in weight loss services using healthy, medically-sound methods to encourage patients to lose weight and become physically fit. Our office is equipped with specialized equipment to measure body fat, water content and muscle mass. We customize a weight loss plan specifically for each patient since no two bodies or situations are the same. Our Leadership

Dr. Das


Dr. Das completed his residency in Internal Medicine from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey at Morristown. He followed this with a fellowship in Sleep Medicine from Dartmouth Hospital and Medical Center in New Hampshire. He left the cold temperatures of the North and moved to Georgia. Dr. Das is board certified in Internal Medicine and is a charter member of Sleep Medicine Fellowship with the American Board of Medical Specialists. His number one commitment is to provide the most advanced care available for patients. In his spare time, Dr. Das enjoys reading, hiking, learning to play the drums and spending quality time with his wife and children.


Office Manager

Terry graduated with her BS (Bachelor of Science) from both the University of MS and the University of MS Medical Center with degrees in Health Information Administration and Medical Records; her graduate work was also with the University of MS. She earned her registrations as RHIA (Registered Health Information Administration) and also CPM (Certified Public Management). She has worked in the medical field since her graduation. Terry and her husband, a Chaplain, volunteer in their community and participate in several church activities. When there is spare time, they enjoy watching the grandchildren in their various activities that typically involves a ball field, plus she follows her Ole Miss Rebels’ football team.


Office Coordinator

Melanie received her BA (Bachelor of Arts) Liberal Arts degree from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California, receiving extensive training in Special Education plus a minor in Biology. She has worked in the medical field in various roles. Melanie and her Air Force Veteran husband enjoy spoiling their two dogs. She spends her spare time reading, gardening and as an actress with Zombie Farms (zombiefarms.com), the Haunted Athens Halloween event each year. Even though Melanie has lived in several areas, her heart is with the GA Bulldogs and she also enjoys hollering “Go Dale Jr.” during the NASCAR races.


Medical Assistant

Kristen began working in the medical field several years ago and has earned her Medical Assistant Certification with specialized training in EKG and phlebotomy. She has three children and enjoys family adventures with them plus the extra cuddle time with each one. She and her family enjoy hiking together and she is proud to be a Green Bay Packer’s fan.


Sleep Technician

Following Mary’s graduation with a Masters of Science degree, she received her RPSGT (Registered Polysomnographic Technologist) and RST (Registered Sleep Technologist) certifications. She and her husband are proud parents of two children. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and her goal is to learn how to play the guitar.


Lead Sleep Technician

Gary graduated with a BS (Bachelor of Science) degree in psychology from Franklin College of Arts and Sciences and University of Georgia. He earned his RPSGT (Registered Polysomnographic Technologist) certification and has extensive training with performing sleep studies on patients with various chronic conditions. He has worked in the medical field for several years. When Gary is not attending UGA games, he enjoys playing golf and gardening. His favorite time is when he and his wife spend time with their children; the best activity of all for him is spoiling the grandchildren.


Sleep Technician

Following Latasha’s graduation from Atlanta Sleep School of Medicine and Technology, she became a Polysomnographic Technologist. She has worked in the medical field since that time. During her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and travelling. Her goal is to make it around the world!


Medical Assistant

Tiffany has several certifications, including Patient Care Technician, Phlebotomy Technician, and Medical Assisting diploma from Athens Technical College. During her spare time, she and her husband stay busy with their two children. One of her favorite activities includes when all four of them hit the road on their motorcycles.


Sleep Technician

Even though Tonia is from Georgia, she completed her studies to become a Sleep Technologist in Arizona. After working in Nevada and Arizona, her love of the south brought her back “home” to Georgia. She and her husband enjoy their two children and spending time with her extended family. You might hear her hollering for the Atlanta Falcons each season.


Sleep Technician

Brittany began her medical career as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She graduated with honors from Ultimate Medical Academy where she earned her diploma in Medical Administrative Assistance. She enjoys spending time with her three children and doing what she can to help others.
