Athena Medical Clinic is proud to provide primary care internal medicine services. We provide services such as diagnostic treatment of all internal medicine concerns, EKG, blood work, and pulmonary function tests.
Sleep Medicine Associates of Athens provide comprehensive sleep medicine diagnostic services. We provide diagnosis for sleep disorders for pediatric and adults, age 3 years old and above.
Dr. Das is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Sleep Medicine, which included fellowship training in sleep medicine.

One of the main services that Athena Medical Clinic offers is sleep medicine and we are proud to offer sleep consultations and treatments for sleep disorders for patients. We offer treatments for disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, restless leg syndrome, night terrors, narcolepsy, bed-wetting, sleep walking and more.
Meet The Doctor
Dr. Deepak Das
Melanie received her BA (Bachelor of Arts) Liberal Arts degree from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California, receiving extensive training in Special Education plus a minor in Biology. She has worked in the medical field since 2000. Melanie and her Air Force Veteran husband enjoy spoiling their cat and two dogs. She spends her spare time reading and gardening. She is also an actress with Zombie Farms (zombiefarms.com), the Haunted Athens Halloween event each year. Even though Mel has lived in several areas, her heart is with the GA Bulldogs and also enjoys hollering “Go Dale Jr,” during the NASCAR races.
Tiffany has worked in the medical field since 2010 and earned several certifications from Athens Technical College, including Patient Care Technician, Phlebotomy Technician and Medical Assisting Certifications. During her spare time, she and her husband stay busy with their two children. A favorite activity of Tiffany’s is for all four of them to put on their helmets and hit the road on their motorcycles.
Kristen began working in the medical field in 2011. She earned both her Nursing Assistant and Medical Assistant Certifications from American Professional Institute. She has three children; one of her favorite times is having cuddle time with each one. She and her family enjoy their time together and she is proud to be a Green Bay Packers fan.
Gary graduated with his BS (Bachelor of Science) degree in psychology from Franklin College of Arts and Sciences and University of Georgia. He earned his RPSGT (Registered Polysomnographic Technologist) certification and has extensive training with performing sleep studies on patients with various chronic conditions. He has worked in the medical field since 2008. When Gary is not attending UGA games, he enjoys painting, golfing and gardening. His favorite time is when he and his wife spend time with their children but the best activity of all for Gary is spoiling the grandchildren.
Janet graduated with a BS (Bachelor of Science) degree in Respiratory Therapy. She has extensive experience in Respiratory Therapy and Sleep Technology. She received her RPSGT (Registered Polysomnographic Technologist) and also is a Registered Respiratory Therapist. She has worked in the medical field since her graduation in 1987 from the Medical College of Georgia. Janet has two children, both in college; in her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis with her son.
Following Latasha’s graduation from Atlanta Sleep School of Medicine and Technology, she became a Polysomnographic Technologist. She has worked in the medical field since 2012. During her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling. Her goal is to make it around the world!
Valencia attended Albany State University in Georgia. She obtained her Associate in Applied Science degree is in Polysomnography Technology. In her spare time, she is an active volunteer in her local church. Valencia enjoys singing, dancing and traveling. When asked about her goals, she wants to stay positive every step of the way throughout life.
Brenda is originally from Virginia and attended Virginia Tech University. She has worked in the medical field since 1980. She has opened several medical practices and has been in management for over 25 years. Her husband’s work has given them the opportunity to live in several states in the southeast. In her spare time she enjoys creating jewelry and traveling with her husband to different states and countries. Although, visiting her daughter and granddaughter in NC always takes top priority.
Kim graduated with a Respiratory Therapy Associates degree from Wallace Community College in Dothan, Alabama. This sparked her interest in Sleep Medicine and she has worked as a Sleep Tech since 2006. She is currently working toward a Health Science degree at Clayton State so she will always be in the medical field. During her spare time between working and going to school, she is an active volunteer in her church. Athena Medical Clinic/Sleep Medicine has appointed Kim as “Chief Chef,” as she loves to cook!
Terry graduated with her BS (Bachelor of Science) from both the University of MS and the University of MS Medical Center with degrees in Health Information Administration and Medical Records; her graduate work was also at the University of MS. She earned her registrations as RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) and also CPM (Certified Public Manager). When Terry discussed with Dr. Das her intention of retiring, he changed her title from Office Manager to Office Manager Emeritus. Her retirement plans include not setting the alarm clock and sitting outside watching the cars go by for the first 2 weeks. After that, she and her husband have plans to volunteer together both in their church and community plus being able to see their children and grandchildren on a more frequent basis.
